The second 5km race of this year’s A.M. Road Running Series was a remarkable one for Pembroke’s Michael Debattista Segond, who clocked an impressive 15:53 to set a new Under-18 National Record for the distance. This achievement continues Michael’s streak of record-breaking performances in 2024, raising hopes for another exceptional result in next weekend’s final Track & Field event of the year.
In the women’s 5km race, Lisa Bezzina delivered a strong performance, finishing in 2nd place with a time of 18:18. She was closely followed by Rosalie Borg, who secured 3rd place with a time of 18:39. Additionally, Ritianne Zammit put in a credible performance, finishing 7th overall and helping Pembroke’s Female Team extend their lead in the Women’s Team Classification.
In the men’s categories, Mark Herrera finished as the 1st Male O40, securing 6th overall, while Brian Magri continued his excellent form by claiming 1st place in the O60 category.
