Pembroke Athleta's top sprinter, Beppe Grillo, concluded his 2025 indoor athletics season on a high note with a strong performance at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China. Competing against some of the world’s fastest athletes, Grillo clocked an impressive 6.87 seconds in the 60m sprint, finishing 42nd out of 58 competitors.
The World Championships marked the culmination of a busy and successful indoor season for Grillo, who showcased his talent with standout performances on the European stage earlier in the year. At the European Athletics Indoor Championships in the Netherlands, he recorded a personal best of 6.83 seconds in the 60m event, further solidifying his reputation as one of the continent’s top sprinters.
Grillo’s indoor campaign also saw consistency in the 60m distance, as he secured 1st place at Malta’s Winter Championships with a time of 6.86 seconds.
With the indoor season now behind him, all eyes are on Beppe as he prepares for the upcoming outdoor competitions, with a busy local and international schedule ahead.
Grillo was accompanied by his coach, Steve Camilleri, in Nanjing for the World Championships.
We at Pembroke Athleta are immensely proud of Beppe’s achievements and look forward to his continued success in the upcoming season!
